  Normally the products I make are quite specialist and the customer has an exact use in mind. So, it’s my job to make sure what we build is exactly what they need and they sign up to a set of these “requirements” right at the start. When the product has been made we go back to the original specification and conduct a set of tests to verify that what we have made will satisfy the original set of requirements. We have to get it right, otherwise the customer won’t pay!
