I thought about being a pilot, but I had a little bit of colour blindness, so school told me that wasn’t an option!
But I went to work with my dad one weekend and on his accounting computer I found a disk with games on.
After that I was hooked and asked for a computer for my birthday and used to really enjoy looking at how the files were set up and how to make my own menus and start writing games (which I was bad at!)
So I did computing at high school, then at A-Level when the internet was just becoming popular, then I went to do Electronics Engineering and Computing at University. At Uni, we had free connection to the internet (but it took 1 minute to download a full screen photo then!).
I created my own website/blog and in my placement year I went to work at a company doing desktop support for their users.
I showed them my website and they asked me to create one for them. So I did that and learned about remote access dial in for their users to connect from home to the company and networking.
After I finished Uni I went back to work at that company for 10 years.
