I just kind of followed what I was good at when at school. I was good at Maths, then computers, then I got my own computer and a modem to connect to other computers, then the internet at university and the idea of being able to talk to anyone, anywhere in the world….even just by text messaging over computers then was amazing and I wanted to know more about networking and connnecting things and people.

It’s cool to be able to use maths and science to do useful things. I always liked maths and science and being able to use it to make equipment use less energy feels like you have achieved something with it

At the start I didn’t, but after some work experience I saw how much other engineers loved their jobs so I wanted to do the same. I have never looked back.

I mostly got inspired by my dad but I also really loved lego and Maths.
